Managing Your Data
How to request data exports or deletion, what happens to backups, and policies for individuals and organisations.
Can I delete my personal data from Clarity Forge?
Yes, within limits and based on your organization’s data policies.
You can request deletion of your personal data, and we will fulfill that request to the extent allowed by your organization’s data policies and applicable law. If your data is part of shared content (e.g. tasks, notes, documents), we may need to preserve those records to maintain team and project continuity.
If your account was created through your company, we may also notify or route your deletion request to your organization’s admin, as they are the data controller in that context.
What happens to data in backups and logs?
Backups are wiped on a rolling 30‑day cycle; audit logs are redacted.
Backups: We use encrypted, immutable backups rotated every 24 hours. Deleted data is overwritten within 30 days.
Audit logs: Required for security and fraud prevention. Personal identifiers are pseudonymized; full redaction occurs after 12 months unless a legal hold applies.
Third‑party processors: Stripe (billing) retains minimal billing records for the period mandated by tax law, independent of Clarity Forge.
Can I export my personal data from Clarity Forge?
You can export data specifically linked to your activity, like tasks, comments and profile details.
Yes. As an individual user, you can request an export of personal data directly associated with your use of Clarity Forge. This may include your profile, tasks assigned to you, notes or comments you authored, and your activity history.
However, the data you can export may be limited by your organisations data policies and access to broader organizational data (such as team projects, other people’s tasks, or company-wide documentation) is limited by your role and permissions within your organization.
Can I export all the data related to my team or organization?
Only workspace admins can export organization-wide data.
Only designated organization administrators have the ability to export organizational-level data. If you need a full export on behalf of your organization, please contact your workspace admin or IT lead, who can coordinate that request through the appropriate channels.
I’ve left my company. Can I still get a copy of the data I contributed?
Possibly, but we’ll work with your former organization to ensure it’s appropriate.
If you no longer have access to your organization’s Clarity Forge workspace, we may still be able to help you retrieve personal contributions (e.g. authored comments or assigned tasks), but we will evaluate the request in consultation with your former organization. We are obligated to protect organizational data, even after employment changes.
How do I request a data export or deletion?
Just email us with your info—we may confirm your identity or check with your admin.
You can email us at support@clarityforge.com. Please include your full name, email address, and the organization you were part of. In some cases, we may redirect your request to your organization’s administrator for authorization.
What happens to my data if my organization deletes its Clarity Forge account?
Data is securely deleted after a short retention period, unless your org requests an export.
When an organization terminates its account, all associated data is scheduled for deletion according to our retention policy. Organization administrators may request data exports before closure. After the retention period, data is securely deleted from our active systems and backups.
Is my data deleted immediately when I make a request?
Not instantly, we confirm requests and follow secure deletion processes.
Not immediately. We may retain data briefly to confirm the request, prevent fraud, or ensure secure deletion. For organizational workspaces, we may also need approval from your administrator. We’ll notify you when deletion is complete or if any part of the request cannot be fulfilled.
